Stokesley is an attractive, elegant, historic market town of some 5000 inhabitants, mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, with many interesting Georgian and Victorian buildings. The River Leven flows through the town and is crossed by the ancient Pack Horse Bridge. Yarm became a thriving town in its own right during the Georgian period; historic and beautiful, Yarm-on-Tees nestles in a loop of the River Tees. Tradition is still at the heart of the town and the impressive 43 arch viaduct, which shadows one of the widest cobbled high streets in England, is now protected by conservation status, voted Britains Best High Street by BBC Viewers in 2007

Middlesbrough (12 miles, 14 mins approx)

The Carlton Bank flying site is about 400 yards to the North, used by Hang Gliders, and Paragliders, who belong to the North Yorks Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club who should be contacted before flying a Hang or Paraglider in the area. The area is also popular with walkers.
